A Mano Primitivo Puglia, 2001
A pleasant and fruity red, with nice red berry and mineral character. Medium-bodied, with lots of flavor and a fresh, fruity aftertaste. Rated a very good wine with special qualities. This is a bright, young food friendly wine not for holding. Goes very well with potato gnocchi.

Gulfi Rossojbleo
100% Nero d'Avola from vines on calcareous & clay soils, located at 500 meters above sea level in the commune of Chiaramonte Gulfi (Ragusa) in southeastern Sicily. The wine goes through a brief carbonic maceration (whole berries are fermented) to bring out the brilliant blackberry fruit of the grape. Dark scarlet in the glass, this fruit-bomb red is packed with dense, ripe fruit, non-existent tannins and a silky grace to it. Goes well with grilled meats and fresh pasta dishes.

Cerasuolo di Vittoria ‘Hyleo’,2004

The Cerasuolo di Vittoria is produced from the vinification of red Frappato and Nero D’ Avola grapes. It takes its name from the magnificent color that characterizes the wine. It is a superior table wine that can be aged at considerable length, up to 20 years. Going against the rules, the most refined connoisseurs advise that it be drunk as an aperitif when it is quite old. Wines from this appellation are usually suited to moderate aging. They may also be drunk young. Cerasuolo is the only Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) wine produced in the province of Ragusa-must be at least 40% Frappato.
